Figma node

Written by Dario

Note: This feature is currently in beta and may change as we continue to improve it.

The Figma node brings a Figma frame into your Weave workflow, letting you generate content for a Figma design directly from Weave.

Creating a Figma node

Copy a frame in Figma, then paste it into your Weave workflow to create a Figma node. You'll need edit access to the file. If you haven't already linked your Figma account under Settings > Profile > Linked accounts, you'll be prompted to do so in one click.

To connect a layer inside the frame to a Weave input, either click Add Input on the node itself, or click the + next to Inputs in the side panel, then select Text or Image.

Once added, connect the input to a layer inside the frame. This lets you replace that layer's content and see the result reflected on the frame right inside Weave. Only text and image nodes in Weave can be connected this way.

Creating a Figma node this way doesn't affect the Figma file it came from. To push your changes there, connect the node to the Figma file.

Connecting to a Figma file

Press Connect on the Figma node, then choose to connect to the original file or create a new one.

The connected frame shows a Weave indicator in Figma, in both the layers panel and the properties panel, so it's clear which layers are wired to Weave.

Once connected, changes you make in Weave push automatically to the Figma file.

Changes made directly in Figma don't sync automatically. If you've edited the design or moved a layer in Figma, press Update on the Figma node in Weave to pull those changes in.
