Figma Weave tools are accessible through the Figma MCP server. Once connected, your agent can run Weave tools on your behalf, without you opening Weave.
Using the Figma MCP server, your agent can:
List your Weave tools: see all your available tools
Check what a Weave tool needs: review a tool's required inputs before running it
Upload a file: upload an image, video, audio, or 3D model file and use it to run your Weave tool
Run a Weave tool: execute a Weave tool with your chosen inputs
Track a run: poll for progress and read the output once it's ready
Cancel a run: stop a run that's still in progress
Running a Weave tool through MCP uses your Weave credits, not your Figma AI credits. Your agent will show you the cost and ask for confirmation before running. Runs that don't cost credits skip this step. For Weave tools with dynamic costs, such as those depending on a dynamic iterator, the agent will let you know the cost can't be quoted before running.
Note: Creating and editing Weave workflows via MCP is not yet supported.
Set up the connection
This feature is available to users with a Figma Weave account on the Starter, Pro, Team, or Enterprise plan.
To get started, link your Figma account to your Figma Weave account. Go to Settings > Profile > Linked accounts in Weave and connect your Figma account.
Once connected, your agent can only retrieve Weave tools from your active workspace in Weave (the workspace currently selected in Weave). If your Figma account is connected to multiple Weave workspaces, make sure the correct one is active before running Weave tools through your agent. To switch workspaces, see Switching Workspaces.
Weave tools run through the Figma MCP, so no separate Weave MCP connection is needed. For supported clients and connection details, see the Figma MCP catalog and the Guide to the Figma MCP server on Figma Learn.
Example: Run a Weave tool from your agent
The following example shows how an agent runs a Weave tool to generate a product mockup.
Ask your agent to run a specific Weave tool by name, e.g. "Go to my 'Product mockup' tool in Weave"
The agent finds the Weave tool, checks what inputs the tool needs and asks you for them if you haven't already provided them
If the run costs credits, the agent shows you the cost and asks for confirmation
The agent runs the Weave tool, tracks its progress, and returns the result
