Uploading Custom Fonts

Written by Noam Gichon

Add your own custom fonts to Weave so you can use them in your workflows, in addition to Weave’s built-in font library.

Who can use this

Available on any paid plan.

By default, workflows in Weave use fonts from Weave’s built-in library. If you need something more specific, like a brand font, you can upload custom fonts for your workflows.

On Team and Enterprise plans, only workspace admins can upload and manage custom fonts for the workspace. All other plans you manage your own custom fonts directly.

Upload your font files

Weave supports .TTF, .OTF and variable font files. If your font comes in multiple styles, like “Regular” and “Bold,” select each style to upload.

  1. Click on your name in the top left corner

  2. Select Settings

  3. Choose Fonts in the left panel

  4. Click + Add.

  5. Select your font file and upload it

Use your font in a workflow

Once a font is uploaded, it’s available to everyone in the workspace from the font dropdown.

To find and use an uploaded font:

  1. Open a workflow in Weave

  2. Select a compositor node

  3. Choose a text layer within the compositor

  4. Open the font dropdown

  5. Search for your font by name

Managing your fonts

Admins can review and delete the workspace’s custom fonts at any time.

To manage your fonts:

  1. Click on your name in the top left corner

  2. Select Settings

  3. Choose Fonts in the left panel

  4. Review the list of uploaded fonts and their available styles

  5. Click the delete icon next to a font to remove it

If your workspace already has custom fonts that the Weave team added for you, they’ll show up in your font list.

To change a font that you’ve already uploaded, remove it and upload the new version.

If a font is removed

If a custom font that’s in use is deleted, any text using it falls back to a default font. The next time someone opens that workflow, you will be prompted to choose a replacement font.

Sharing workflows with custom fonts

Custom fonts belong to the workspace that uploaded them, so they don’t carry over when a workflow is shared or duplicated into a different workspace. A tool built with custom fonts can still run with those fonts applied for users outside the workspace.

If someone outside your workspace opens a shared or duplicated workflow that uses a custom font, they’ll see a prompt to choose a replacement font. If they’re a workspace admin on a Team or Enterprise plan, they’ll also get the option to upload that font to their own workspace.
